Consistent support for our venture

This is our third time working with Soon, first for Lawyer.com and now on a new venture. They've been consistently reliable. The entrepreneurial mentorship is solid every time, and their operational support is always on point. It's why we keep coming back when we need to scale. They understand the domain development space really well.

Solid support, some delays

We joined Soon for their venture acceleration program, focusing on AI implementation consulting. The expertise provided was strong, especially in tech infrastructure. They really helped with our business model optimization. However, the initial setup for talent acquisition took a bit longer than expected to get going. Once we started, the team building services were quite effective, and the overall support for our startup scaling was very good. Good value for what we paid, but some initial communication could be smoother.

Valuable incubator access

As a first-time founder, I was looking for the best value in an accelerator program. Soon's incubator access, which I got through a partnership inquiry, felt like a significant opportunity. The initial investment in our capital investment phase was fair, and the intellectual property strategy guidance they provided was invaluable. It felt like a solid investment in our startup's future, definitely worth it compared to other options I considered. It really helped with our product launch strategy.

wondering about Soon vs. Y Combinator. Anyone have experience with both or know the main differences in their approach?

S Sam Silva 2 months ago
From what I've seen, YC is more about batches and a structured program for a lot of startups. Soon seems a bit more hands-on and focused on building out specific, high-value domain businesses.

They both offer acceleration but Soon really emphasizes those premium domain names and building businesses *around* them, like Lawyer.com. YC is broader in the types of startups they take, afaik.

Does Soon just focus on tech stuff or are they open to other types of businesses too, especially if they have a strong domain name connection?

A Andre Doyle 2 months ago
They definitely seem to lean into tech, especially with the AI implementation and tech infrastructure stuff mentioned. But it's more about the 'high-value business around premium domain names' part. So if you have a killer domain and a solid business plan, it might not just be pure tech.

I think it's more about the potential of the domain and the business model, not just if it's a 'tech' company in the traditional sense. But yeah, their focus on AI and tech infrastructure probably means a tech component is usually involved.

Is there any kind of referral program if I know someone who might be a good fit for Soon? Like, can I get them in touch or anything?

J James D. 2 months ago
They definitely mention 'referral program' and 'partnership inquiry' in their features. I'd just reach out to them directly through their website or LinkedIn and ask about it.

Yeah, I've heard they're open to referrals. Probably best to contact them directly rather than assuming there's an official form or anything. They're looking for quality, so a personal intro probably goes a long way.

How long does it typically take to hear back after submitting an application to the Soon World Accelerator? Just curious about timelines.

P Phil Reyes 2 months ago
It can vary a lot depending on their current cycle and how many applications they're sifting through. I'd say a few weeks is probably normal, but don't hold your breath for a super quick response.

Mine took about 3-4 weeks to get an initial email back, but that was a while ago. It's not like an instant decision though.

Hey, thinking about applying to Soon. Anyone know if there are any special deals or credits for early-stage startups? Like, anything to help with the initial costs or anything?

B Beth Whitfield 3 months ago
Nah, they don't really do promo codes or traditional discounts. It's more about direct investment and partnerships if you get in.

E Elena S. 3 months ago
Yeah, what the other person said. It's not like a typical product you buy with a coupon. Your 'discount' is really the investment or access to their network if they decide to work with you.
